Framework Formation

HOW URBAN STEPS EMERGED

Urban STEPS emerged through more than two decades of work across architecture, metropolitan planning, urban heritage, governance, territorial systems, and cultural continuity in Germany and Afghanistan.

The framework evolved through research, surveys, planning, implementation, and reflection on the relationship between highly coordinated institutional environments and rapidly evolving post-conflict urban realities.

The timeline below traces the observations, insights, and experiences that gradually shaped Urban STEPS.
